Description:
Dovetail offers the first monographic overview of Kasper Bosmans’ oeuvre to date. The book’s editor, Julia Mullié, opens with an introduction to his practice. WIELS senior curator Zoë Gray writes of how Bosmans intertwines stories; art historian Phillip Van Den Bossche writes about his quilts; philosopher Piero Bisello applies the concept of “Coherentism” to a number of individual works; and art historian Martin Germann examines Bosmans’ Legend paintings. The book is richly illustrated with photographs of individual works and exhibition views, including a collaboration with artist Marina Pinsky.
This book precedes Bosmans’ solo exhibition at WIELS, postponed to autumn 2021 due to the Covid-19 crisis.
