Description:
This book is a biographical account that reveals hitherto unknown aspects of Joan Miró’s life. Lluís Permanyer is a renowned expert on Joan Miró’s work and a friend of the artist. In the preface, he writes "His painting captivated me the moment I discovered it. With my first wages I bought a lithograph by him. I was introduced to him by Joan Gaspar in 1963. After a while we began to meet regularly, and a natural bond soon developed between us to the point that he began to confide certain things to me. It was hardly surprising, then, that one day I suggested that I write his memoirs for him. Not only did he agree enthusiastically, but a few weeks later he showed me his diary, with notes on a few pages, and said ‘I am jotting down some recollections so I can start working with you’”.
